Proverbs 14:31 says ‘… kindness shown to the poor is an act of worship’, and Reverend Chris Baah Nartey has taught members of the National Union Of Presbyterian Students and all who were present at the auditorium 900 on day one of a 3 days annual revival program organized by the National Union Of Presbyterian Students’ –Ghana (NUPS-G) UCC local, that celebrating our Lord Jesus Christ is an act of worship. Rev. Baah Nartey, a resident pastor of the Presbyterian church of Ghana at the bethel congregation in Kpong in the Lower Manya District of the Eastern region was speaking on the theme ‘celebrating Christ with a new song’ psalm 40:3. The guest speaker sought to ignite the attitude of worship into the congregants by encouraging everyone to come and celebrate the Lord regales of their worries because having the attitude of thanks giving opens the door of opportunities for you, and the presence of God makes the difference in a person’s life.
The staunch Presbyterian minister in pushing further on worship said there are two dimensions of worship which are celebration and proclamation of which he touched mostly on the latter with a promise to talk about celebrations some other time.
“Worship has two dimensions, one is celebration and the other is proclamation. I will talk about proclamation today and we will talk about celebrations some other time.” According to the revered man of God, proclamation as a dimension of worship has two forms; a vertical proclamation which is celebrating the goodness of God, and the horizontal proclamation which involves the believer telling others about Christ. The word ministration which lasted for about 50 minutes included some testimonies of worshiping the lord by the guest speaker in his daily religious activities. In his concluding text taking from Revelation 5:8-13, he pointed out that prayer and worship are the two waves of evangelism.
